Regulating Emotions

Life presents situations every day without notice, many of the times many of us do not have time to sit back, think and act before a situation or conversation has already taken place, it is then up to us to regulate our emotions to assure the correct outcome for both parties which can sometimes be challenging. Emotions play a very big part in how our days will go. What we go through in our lives has a very huge impact on how we perceive things. Feelings have a huge part in emotions because feelings are where and how emotions are produced. 

There are certain situations that trigger certain emotions such as family, relationships, certain environments or past events. These are something’s that we do not forget and that hold a special place in our minds. If something happens, we automatically start acting a certain way or react due to familiar behavior. There then comes a time we know when something is going to or getting ready to trigger us before it happens. Now the question is what is the solution?

Unconscious learned behavior plays a huge part in why things happen before we have the answers. We are only as good as our surroundings/circumstances. Influence plays a huge part in emotions and feelings. Feelings are very valid; it is a feeling stemming from your emotions inside that is a very real internal que that something is bothering us. In any situation if something doesn’t sit right with us, we automatically feel a feeling of discomfort which is very valid no matter what anyone tries to make us feel because its coming from within and should not be ignored. 

Having emotional intelligence will help us out when situations get too tough to navigate sometimes. Knowing the why behind things can save us from situations we no longer want to participate in. 

Feeling comfortable enough to talk about our emotions in a world that seems like it is spiraling is very hard, we have to be around people who are healthy for us, we can not sit around people who do not know how to understand us emotionally 

I can go on and on about the impact of regulating emotions but I think we all need a solution or something positive to think about when these times arise. 

Ultimately, we can over come or emotions by learning from past situations, but always remember don’t stay there to long and most importantly give yourself some grace
